World Environment Day

Shree Narayan Medical Institute and Hospital observed World Environment Day with a campus plantation and environmental awareness initiative promoting sustainability, responsible resource use, and a healthier future for the community.

Building a Healthier Planet Together

Shree Narayan Medical Institute and Hospital observed World Environment Day 2026 with a series of activities focused on environmental awareness, sustainability, and the connection between a healthy environment and human well-being.

Students, faculty members, doctors, and staff participated in the programme with a shared commitment to creating a greener and more responsible campus community.

Campus Plantation Initiative

As part of the observance, participants took part in a tree and sapling plantation drive across designated areas of the SNMIH campus.

The activity encouraged students to understand the long-term value of green spaces, biodiversity, cleaner air, and responsible environmental stewardship.

Health and the Environment

Environmental conditions have a direct impact on public health.

The programme highlighted the importance of addressing concerns such as:

  • Air and water pollution
  • Plastic waste
  • Improper waste disposal
  • Loss of green cover
  • Excessive resource consumption
  • Climate-related health risks

Students were encouraged to recognise the important role healthcare professionals can play in promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices.

Small Actions, Meaningful Impact

Participants were encouraged to adopt simple environmentally responsible habits in their everyday lives, including reducing single-use plastics, conserving water and electricity, minimising waste, and protecting green spaces.

The initiative reinforced the message that meaningful environmental change often begins with consistent individual and institutional action.

Sustainability in Healthcare

For future healthcare professionals, environmental responsibility is closely linked to public health.

Sustainable healthcare practices can contribute to cleaner communities, responsible use of resources, and better health outcomes for future generations.

Through such initiatives, SNMIH encourages students to think beyond clinical care and understand the broader environmental factors that influence community health.

A Greener Future

The World Environment Day programme concluded with a shared commitment to protecting the environment and maintaining the greenery of the campus.

A healthier environment creates healthier communities. Every responsible action today contributes to a better tomorrow.
